1. Cooking at excessively high temperatures
Air fryers typically use higher temperatures to cook food, and if the temperature is too high, it may produce harmful substances such as acrylamide. Acrylamide is easily produced during high-temperature cooking (especially baking and frying) of starchy foods, and is considered to be potentially harmful to human health. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid setting the temperature too high when using an air fryer and try not to cook for too long.

2. Improper use
Although air fryers do not require or only require a small amount of oil during cooking, excessive reliance on air fryers to cook high-fat, high calorie foods may still lead to excessive intake of fat and calories.

3. Improper cleaning
Air fryers need to be cleaned regularly, otherwise food residues may accumulate and burn at high temperatures, producing harmful substances. Some burnt food residues may contain carcinogens.

So, as long as used correctly and kept clean, an air fryer is a relatively healthy cooking tool.
